Western bridal wear is difficult to get in India so when the Karleo label was started by Karan Berry and Leon Vaz in March 2013, it was a welcome entry into the fashion business. Considered one of India’s first white wedding gown brand, the speciality of the label is the exquisite embroidery that is created exclusively for each garment.
Ranked among the Top 25 labels in the country, the designers believe in displaying through private exhibitions and regular pop up shops. Their latest collection inspired by the Disney Princesses is a grand display of gowns in lace, tulle, silk, jacquard and satin with embroidery using dazzling pearls, ribbons, sequins, gemstones and crystals. Their previous collections called Dream Girl, Garden of Eden, Noir Love, Zodiac, Spice and White Symphony evoked great appreciation.
Known for their custom-made wedding gowns, dresses, headpieces, headbands, fancy jewels, bridal veils and accessories, Karleo specialises in exclusive couture, which requires 25 days to deliver.
Prices start at Rs 75,000 and could go up to Rs 175,000 depending on the design, fabrics and the embellishments created.
The label also works with international couturiers like Armani, Valentino, Marchesa and Ralph Lauren.
The designers are only available by appointment six days a week. The terms of payment are 80 per cent to be paid on booking and they accept credit cards and bank transfers by NEFT.
