This year at the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive 2018, ‘Label Ritu Kumar’ unveiled their Summer/Spring Collection called “Native Spirit”. The collection was fashionable and colourful ode to nature and respect to the great outdoors.
The inspiration was taken from the grandeur of Native American life, rustic charm of Inca Civilisation and vigour of the memorable Wild West.
The colours used by the brand were unique to its inspiration. Burgundy, red and mustard and citrus pastels were used to create the breathtaking garments. The garments were high on detailing with leather braiding and clean metal accents.
The brand used fabrics like chiffons, cottons, silks and soft crêpes that flowed easily on the runaway, making the garments on the models look elegant and chic. Opening with a colourful, halter asymmetric maxi, the show moved into top gear with denim shorts, capelets with sparkle, mini smocks, kimono style minis and off-shoulder smocked- waist, long dresses.
Corduroy dungarees were teamed with printed tops. The characteristic fringe detailing that was often favoured on the gaucho pants, appeared as a feisty trim to evoke the Wild West theme.
“Native Spirit” definitely gave the audience a spectacular show, making the ready-to- wear comfortable clothes a must have.
